Extensitech & Docuwrx Collaboration
Last week, we were lucky enough to meet with another local FileMaker consulting company, Extensitech. Based out of Brooksville, Extensitech provides custom solutions and business consultation. We met with both Crystal Smith and Chris Cain to catch up since our last meeting and collaborate on some new ideas.
Back in April of 2014, Eric Miller, DocuWrx CEO, and Scott Nevitt, DocuWrx Developer, reached out to Extensitech at their local office to discuss FileMaker and the ins and outs of running a software consulting firm. From then on, we started a relationship based off collaboration to help further our knowledge of FileMaker while improving both our software and services.
Chris Cain, Founding Partner and Senior Developer at Extensitech, accompanied Miller and all of DocuWrx developers to take a more in depth look at FileMaker programming. Extensitech currently has a “base” solution which they use as a premise for further expansion depending on the client’s unique requirements. At DocuWrx, Kosmas is an all-in-one construction management solution with a variety of functions and modules to choose from. Both solutions are constantly looking for improvement and enhancement mechanisms to best fit client needs.
Crystal Smith, Extensitech’s Business Development Director, sat down with DocuWrx’s marketing, implementation, and sales task force to discuss improving business strategies and getting more involved in the FileMaker community. Crystal has a knowledgeable business background throughout her many years of experience and provided us with some helpful ideas on how to reach our target market as well as various sales and advertising methods.
Our time with Extensitech is always of value and we enjoy teaming up to expand our knowledge and better our FileMaker solutions. DocuWrx and Extensitech have a lot of similarities, therefore, we believe it is always a good idea to bounce new ideas off each other to further enhance our solutions in today’s ever-growing technological society. You learn when working for a software company that you have to have a strong ability to adapt to the continuous changes made in technology or you will quickly fall behind. That’s why we think it is beneficial to have a community where developers can come together and discuss a variety of FileMaker subjects.
DocuWrx and Extensitech have decided to create a local FMPug community for exchanging ideas within the Tampa area. Thus, allowing for FileMaker developers, ranging from novice to expert, to come together over lunch or a seminar on a variety of FileMaker subjects. The FMPug community will be used to share and foster ideas, as well as network with local businesses and developers. We believe this is a good way to get more in touch with our community and possibly shed new light onto existing subjects as well as gain insight into new topics that could help further improve FileMaker solutions everywhere. Stay tuned for more information regarding an upcoming FMPug community event and we hope to see you there!
